  Weekly Update December 19, 2022 12/19 We have Media Center. 12/20 We have art. 12/21 Late Start  School will start at 9:25.   12/22 We have   gym. 12/23 We do not have school.  Have a wonderful winter break                   Word Work: This week we will be using our time to review the weeks that we have accomplished over the last few months. Ice Skating: Thank you to those parents who were able to help our students put on and take off ice skates.  We had a wonderful time. Vacation Reading: Please help your child maintain his/her reading stamina by continuing to read 15 - 20 minutes nightly during our vacation from school.  Many students are reading much more than the required 15 minutes and learning to make reading a natural part of their day.  We appreciate your support.   Another bead jar filled and another Everything Goes Day ( I promised a student who had to be absent last week that I would allow it next time too).   This week's 9 items include fidgits, indoor toy time with electronics, a read in, any drink that is not red, hat day, movie time, candy day, and stuffies are allowed.  Yes it is Popcorn Friday, Grinch Day and Ice Skating.   Please email me with any questions. Our syllable pattern will show up in words like smart, shark, start, and market.  Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week. Holiday Party: We will have our holiday party on December 22 from 2-2:45. Here is the link to the sign up.   We filled the bead jar today.  Since I won't be here on Friday, we are having our special day tomorrow.  It will be an Everything Goes Day.  This means the top 6 things on the list won.  Those things were crazy hair/outfit day, candy day, clear drink day, read in with pajamas, stuffed animals to school day, and mindful toy day.  Let me know if you have any questions.
