Weekly Update
December 12, 2022
Word Work: Our class will be learning the -r controlled e, i, and u syllable pattern this week. Our syllable pattern will show up in words like smart, shark, start, and market. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.
Holiday Party: We will have our holiday party on December 22 from 2-2:45. Here is the link to the sign up.
Ice Skating: Thanks to our PTO and the City of St. Joseph, our Lincoln School K-5 students will be able to ice skate for free at the Howard Ice Arena on the 15th and 16th. Our second graders will walk with their teachers to and from the ice rink. Students may get ice skates to use at the rink for free or bring their own skates in a duffle bag or brown paper bag. Helmets and safety gear are encouraged. Parents are welcome to join us. It is very helpful to have parents assisting students with putting on and taking off skates. We will be leaving Lincoln School ON DECEMBER 16th at 8:40 , skating from 9-9:40, and returning to Lincoln at 9:55.
