Weekly Update
Week of January 9, 2023
Happy New Year: I hope everyone had a wonderful break and is ready to return to school tomorrow! Please remember to bring your take home folder, water bottle, and a healthy morning snack. If there is snow on the ground, remember to wear boots and have snow pants if you like to get down to play in the snow.
Thank You: Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered to help with the party by either helping in the room or donating materials. I would like to specifically thank Mrs. Edinger for coming up with the craft, donating the supplies, and finishing them over the winter break. Your child will have a fun creation to bring home tomorrow.
Word Work: Our class will be learning about the r-controlled /ar/ syllable pattern this week. Our syllable pattern makes the sound as in beware, rarely, and prairie. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.
Winter Gear: Please help your child enjoy the three outdoor recesses by sending him or her in warm clothing each day. A winter coat, hat, gloves or mittens, snow pants, and boots make it possible to be comfortable and play in the snow.
