Weekly Update
Week of March 27, 2023
Word Work: Our class will continue to learn about compound words such as someone, cherry pie, and part-time. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the Unit 18 practice list for the week.
March Is Reading Month: Your children have been busy reading and listening to our March Books of the Month. Please ask your child which book he/she has liked the most so far. The winner of the bracket will be announced on Wednesday.
Spring Weather: Please note that with the changing temperatures and our proximity to the lake, it can be hard to dress for the day. We will be enforcing coats to 50 degrees and long sleeves to 60. As for shorts, let's keep those for days when it's going to be 60. If we get a breeze off the lake, it can be a cold 20 minutes on the playground. Thank you for your help.
Music Performance: Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 19th. This is the day our 2nd graders will perform their show. The performance will take place at the high school at 6:30. Mrs. Mileham has shared this website with us to help students practice their songs and their parts. It’s A Jungle Out There!
We can’t wait to see you there at 6:15 to get ready!
