Word Work: This week your child will continue to learn words that have the long-a digraph pattern.  This rule includes words like brain, weight, tray, and whey.   The words can be found on Spelling City to practice.  Please remember to use the list that comes home to practice reading words, talk about the word’s meaning, and look for common patterns in the way the words are spelled.  Please do not feel your child should be able to spell all the words on this list.


Fall Party:  Our fall party will be held on October 31, 2022.  The parade will be held at 3:15 and parents are welcome to come watch.  Details about the party were emailed on Friday. Here is the link if you did not receive the email. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Words that follow this pattern include car, start, artist, and market. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.
